Possible cause
Scale operator is touching the animal or weigh crate when weighing
Solution
Ensure animal or weighed portions of the weigh crate are not touched during the weighing process.
Possible cause Weighing platform is bending. A platform with a bend in it will cause weights to read over or under weighing.
Solution Reinforce platform or replace. The Tru-Test aluminium cattle platform will not bend.
Possible cause Moisture in the load cell plug.
Solution Try to remove moisture from the plugs and caps using methylated spirits, ethyl alcohol or suitable electrical contact cleaner. Do not use CRC/WD40 etc.
Possible cause Moisture in the load cell plug.
Solution Look for regions that are cut, squashed or bent. Wiggle the cable in these areas to see if the weight fluctuates. You can choose to service a damaged cable yourself so that weighing may continue with minimal interruption. However, it is recommended that your weighing system is returned to your Tru-Test dealer for service. Poorly repaired cables will allow moisture into the load cell, causing inaccurate weighing and eventually failure of the load cell. Load cell failure is expensive to fix so immediate repair is advisable.
Possible cause Moisture in the load cell.
Solution Return the load cell to an authorised service centre for service.
Possible cause Wind blowing on the side of the crate or chute can cause fluctuating weights.
Solution Create a wind break to minimise wind effect on the crate.
Possible cause Load bar foot is damaged.
Solution Replace load bar foot.
Possible cause Ball bearings in HD and SHD Series load bars are damaged.
Solution Replace ball bearings.
Possible cause The next animal waiting to enter the weigh crate is pushing against the crate.
Solution Use a physical barrier to prevent following animals from touching the weigh crate
Possible cause The animal is able to touch unweighed portions of the weighing enclosure. For example, the animal is able to touch unweighed portions of the weighing enclosure with its head or hind quarters. A cattle beast touching unweighed parts of the enclosure can significantly affect the scale's ability to capture a stable weight.
Solution Ensure sufficient clearance between the animal and unweighed portions of the weighing enclosure. Use tapered sides to ensure clearance by the animal's body with restricted movement down by the animal's feet.
Possible cause Weigh site base is not firm enough.
Solution Pour a level concrete base. If you cannot use concrete, use level wooden planks under the load bars.
Possible cause System calibration is incorrect.
SolutionReturn your weighing system to your Tru-Test dealer for service.
